<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>The reaction of<jats:italic>S</jats:italic>‐methylisothiocarbohydrazide hydroiodide [H<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>NNHC(SCH<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>)NNH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub><jats:bold>·</jats:bold>HI] with NiCl<jats:sub>2</jats:sub><jats:bold>·</jats:bold>6H<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>O in water at room temperature yielded a triple‐stranded dinickel(II) helicate [Ni<jats:sup>II</jats:sup>(L<jats:sup>1</jats:sup>–L<jats:sup>1</jats:sup>)<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>Ni<jats:sup>II</jats:sup>]I<jats:sub>4</jats:sub><jats:bold>·</jats:bold>4H<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>O (<jats:bold>1</jats:bold><jats:sup>4+</jats:sup><jats:bold>·</jats:bold>4I<jats:sup>–</jats:sup><jats:bold>·</jats:bold>4H<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>O), where L<jats:sup>1</jats:sup>–L<jats:sup>1</jats:sup>= H<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>NNHC(SCH<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>)NNC(SCH<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>)NHNH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>, in 35 % yield, which spontaneously separates in enantiomers upon crystallization. The enantiomers do not racemize at room temperature, even not after 15 h of heating at 90 °C. X‐ray diffraction structures of both enantiomers, chiroptical and magnetic properties of<jats:bold>1</jats:bold><jats:sup>4+</jats:sup><jats:bold>·</jats:bold>4I<jats:sup>–</jats:sup><jats:bold>·</jats:bold>4H<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>O are reported. Demetallation of the complex by treatment with S<jats:sup>2–</jats:sup>resulted in 3,6‐bis(methylthio)‐1,4‐dihydro‐1,2,4,5‐tetrazine (<jats:bold>2</jats:bold>). Compound<jats:bold>2</jats:bold>undergoes 2‐e<jats:sup>–</jats:sup>oxidation in air to give the known 3,6‐bis(methylthio)‐1,2,4,5‐tetrazine (<jats:bold>3</jats:bold>).
